  高溫乾燥的冬季使葡萄發芽較早，但隨後的寒冷多雨天氣使葡萄出現了落花（花朵敗育）和落果（授粉率差導致果實又小又緊）等現象。從6月初開始，就預計會低產。而7月和8月的涼爽天氣與年初的氣候相仿。因天氣並沒有驟然變化，這也足夠使葡萄轉熟，進而達到成熟。

  收穫期臨近時，天氣非常好。 9月的高溫、充沛的陽光、乾燥的天氣和東北風都加速了葡萄成熟的過程。

A brilliant offering and a candidate for wine of the vintage, this is classic Lafite that reminded me somewhat of the 1976, although the vintage conditions were completely different. This is a medium-weight, quintessentially elegant style of Lafite with notes of lead pencil shavings/graphite along with black currants, plums, and crushed rocks/mineral. Wonderfully pure, dense, with a deep ruby/purple color and loads of fruit, definition, and a long finish, this is a brilliant, elegant Lafite Rothschild that builds incrementally in the mouth and has more power and density than it initially seems. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2025. RP
